In the ever-growing food industry, very simple and quick format adjustment is crucial in order to manage different pack sizes and meet the highest quality standards. This is where the conveyor belt from the Italian company I.B.srl and the synchronisation of the innovative drygear® Apiro® gearboxes from igus® come into play together with the linear unit with drylin® SLW lead screw drive, which enables the flexible adjustment of the conveyor belt.

Problem

The company I.B.srl was faced with the challenge of designing a conveyor belt for automating production processes. The aim was to increase speed, which in turn leads to precision and efficiency. In industries where large quantities of food packaging are processed, reliable and contamination-free transport is essential.
It is also about avoiding contamination. Food and packaging must be processed under hygienic conditions to prevent contamination. The conveyor system had to be designed to be easy to clean and to prevent contact with harmful substances such as lubricants.
 

Solution

Successful development of a food-compliant conveyor belt with igus® products:

Through the technical combination of drygear® Apiro® gearboxes, drylin® linear modules and motorised carriages, I.B.srl created a tailor-made food-compliant conveyor belt system that enables efficient product channelling. The components used are 100% free from maintenance and lubrication.
